Information collected and why
- Messages you send: your email address, name if provided, message content and any other information you choose to share. Used to read, respond to and manage correspondence, including literary representation, publishing and rights enquiries.
- Website operation: Cloudflare, as the hosting and security provider, may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details and security events to deliver and protect the website.

Legal bases
Ordinary correspondence is generally handled on the basis of legitimate interests in answering enquiries and administering the author's work; communications concerning a potential agreement may also involve steps requested before entering a contract. Technical hosting and security processing may rely on legitimate interests in running a secure website. Where a different legal basis is required for particular processing, this notice should be updated accordingly.
Who receives information?
Cloudflare provides website hosting, delivery, security and analytics. Zoho Mail provides the email service used to receive and respond to correspondence. Information may also be shared where necessary to comply with law or handle a legitimate professional enquiry. This site does not currently operate a mailing list, advertising tracker or on-site payment system.
International processing
Cloudflare and Zoho operate internationally. Information may be processed outside the United Kingdom depending on their service configurations. Appropriate contractual safeguards and provider arrangements should be checked in the relevant accounts; this page does not assert that a particular regional storage setting or transfer mechanism has been configured.
How long is information kept?
Messages are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry, maintain relevant professional correspondence, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. A specific mailbox review and deletion schedule has not yet been established and should be documented by the site owner. Cloudflare and Zoho may have separate retention schedules for technical data.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, and other rights under UK data protection law. To make a request, email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Contact form and external services
The contact form prepares an email in your own email application. It does not upload the typed message to the website. Your chosen email provider and Zoho Mail will process the email when you send it. External links may lead to services with their own privacy policies.
